Boudoir Uncovered: Debunking Myths and Celebrating Artistic Expression

Let’s address and debunk some boudoir myths you might have come across, often without realizing that’s all they are.

Boudoir Myth #1: Being at a Boudoir Shoot Equals Being in a Sexual Environment.

Has this thought ever crossed your mind: “Boudoir isn’t for me. I’ll have to act sexual and make sexy faces. How can I handle this when my only previous photo shoot experiences were senior pictures back in high-school and some headshots for my LinkedIn profile?”

Well, I’m here to challenge that perception. A Boudoir Shoot with me is far from a sexual environment. While some photographers may focus on that aspect (and there’s nothing wrong with that), my shoots are a journey into a CREATIVE and INTROSPECTIVE realm. They’re about embracing the artistic dimension of your body and, quite literally, discovering that you CAN be an artist, model, and actress all at once. Most clients come in thinking they’re simply getting pictures taken and leave saying, “omg this was so much fun! I can’t wait to do it again!”

We’ll talk, laugh, and most importantly, I’ll be guiding you throughout the shoot. What people interpret from these images is purely a product of their imagination, assuming you decide to share them at all. You might choose to keep them as a personal treasure. Regardless, the process is far more straightforward than you might think. You just need to trust the journey and remember that we’re here to capture Art – and that Art is you.
