Most maternity sessions I photograph are centered entirely around the mother.

This season of life changes so quickly, and many women choose to use the session as an opportunity to celebrate themselves, their body, and the extraordinary work it is doing. Focusing on one person also allows for more creativity, wardrobe changes, artistic lighting, and portraits that feel deeply personal.

That said, I always offer the option of including a partner, children, or other close family members for a portion of the session.

Rather than making the entire experience about group portraits, I typically begin with individual images of the mother and then dedicate a smaller portion of the session to family photographs. This approach allows us to create beautiful, artistic portraits that remain centered on your pregnancy while also documenting the people who are waiting to welcome this baby into the world.

Whether it is a quiet embrace with your partner, a child resting their head against your belly, or a simple family portrait together, these images add another layer to the story without taking away from the focus of the session.

The result is a collection that celebrates both your individual journey into motherhood and the family who is growing alongside you.
